Canal Life In Venice
In 2018, my wife and I took a trip to Europe. We visited Rome, Venice and the Amalfi Coast. Venice was beautiful in the springtime. We stayed in this great hotel called The Gritti Palace and ate lunch overlooking the canals. My favorite thing to do in Venice—apart from drinking wine and eating—was taking a gondola ride down the canal.

Racing Against The Clock
Last year we went to the Monaco Grand Prix. After the race, on our way out of town, we made the mistake of not reserving a ride to the airport. We thought we were going to miss our flight, and possibly the rest of our European vacation. Luckily, I ran into a friend who lives in Monte-Carlo and asked him for advice. He suggested taking a helicopter. Apparently, they’re as common as taxis. We got the last two seats on the chopper and arrived at the airport in eight minutes.

Happiest Place On Earth
We visit Disney World at least once a year. Experiencing Disney with the kids, seeing it through their eyes, brings you right back to childhood. We always stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge—our go-to hotel. The kids love waking up to the animals grazing in the pastures surrounding the hotel. Last year we visited Disney World during the holidays, and I narrated Epcot’s Candlelight Processional. That’s on our itinerary this year, as well.

Showering With The Fishes
Two years ago, my wife and I visited the Four Seasons in Bora Bora for a romantic getaway. We stayed in one of their overwater bungalows. It’s magical to be able to jump off your balcony and splash right into the ocean. We swam around outside our suite alongside turtles and fish in the crystal-clear water. Being in the shower and looking down to see fish swimming in the ocean was remarkable, too.

Alfonso’s Packing List

Mini Boombox
I have to have my music when I’m traveling. I love to wake up and take a shower in the morning with the music playing. It’s imperative.

You can’t use some electric razors in other countries, even with the converter, because you’ll fry the device. I make sure to pack battery-operated razors for international travel. You want to look good on vacation, so one of those is essential.

When I’m nervous or antsy I chew a lot of gum. I have these little tubs of peppermint gum from Whole Foods. Typically, I am completely stocked up before going on a trip.

Allergy-Proof Food
Our kids have many allergies, which makes snacking difficult. When I travel with my family, we pack a cooler and a bag of snacks. All the gluten-free, sugar-free, cornstarch-free snacks!
