There are no ski slopes within 200 miles of the French capital, but that doesn’t stop a stately Parisian hotel from pretending there’s pistes of fresh powder outside. The five-star Hôtel La Maison Champs Elysées, located in the Eighth Arrondissement, has installed a pop-up ski chalet, lending a wintry, cozy vibe to the hotel known for its theatrical mix of elegant white decor and extravagant chandeliers. The wooden lodge-like chalet is decorated with velvet blankets, ski blades and a fake fireplace and offers “mountain menus,” which include fondue boats, frozen cocktails and cheeses.
